A Generous Spirit: Exploring New Directions for the Arts

The artist Sara Zoutewelle-Morris was a very creative and compassionate person living in Holland, and some years ago her book  ‘Chocolate Rain’ was published by Hawker (featured below). It garnered some outstanding reviews and sold exceptionally well. Now a new publisher, Kaminn Media based in Glasgow, has republished the book under the title ‘100 Ideas for a Creative Approach to Activities in Dementia Care’.

Sadly Sarah died of cancer at the beginning of 2019. With the help of Rende, Sarah's husband, they have also brought out the new book she was working on when she died A Generous Spirit: Exploring New Directions for the Arts. The book shows how art can heal, inspiring and bringing solace and more meaning to your life.

There is also a third title Pigments of Imagination: the Amazing Journey of the Pencil Seeds. Both the first books are fully illustrated, and the last is described as ‘A journey without words’.

Thank you, Sarah and Rende, for these treasures.

This is a really special book -  as the title says, it is full of practical ideas, tried and tested by Sarah, but this hardly does justice to what is a labour of love. Every page has been carefully designed with drawings and pictures to inform, guide and inspire. The result is both a celebration and very user-friendly - it makes you just want to try things out -immediately!
