Love, Loss and Laughter: Seeing Alzheimer’s Differently
by Cathy Greenblat
(2012) Lyons Press: Guildford, Connecticut

Picture

Cathy Greenblat’s new photographic book is the most beautiful about dementia that has yet been published. It is a large-format hardback with glossy pages full of the most unbelievably expressive images you could imagine.

The message it carries is consistently positive, and could do more to change attitudes than a hundred textbooks or training courses.

There are also quotes contributed by many others, all of which reinforce the idea that people with dementia are alive, lively, and rewarding to be with. We used an extract from the book as a recent ‘Quote of the Month’.
